How can you use Aplusix at home?
| Help with homework
Do you need to solve math questions at home: calculations, expansion, simplifications, factorisations, equations, inequalities, simultaneous equations?
Aplusix helps you to solve them. Start with a blank calculation sheet. Choose the type of question and input the given expression, then perform your calculation steps freely. Aplusix verifies them automatically. If you do not know what to do, choose a companion and ask him/her to make a suggestion. If the suggestion does not help you enough, ask him/her to make a calculation step and to explain it. When you think you have finished, indicate it with "Done". Aplusix will check your solution.
Practise using the exercises of the map
Do you want to maintain or
to improve your skills in number work or algebra?
Freely perform your calculation steps. Aplusix check them automatically. If you do not know what to do, choose a companion and ask him/her to make a suggestion. If the suggestion does not help you enough, ask he/she to make a step of calculation with explanations. When you think you have finished, click on "Done", Aplusix will verify your solution.
Solve all the exercises of the family.
If you choose the same exercise family again, the questions will be different because they are randomly generated by the application.
The feedback given by automatic checking of calculation steps and of the solution, and the help available through the companions, make practising with Aplusix a true learning experience.
If the questions appear too difficult, you can choose an easier family. If you can, ask a teacher, a tutor, a parent, to help you to choose the families which are right for you.
Take tests using the Map
Do you want to evaluate your skills in a particular topic in number work or algebra?
When you are ready, take a test. You can choose a family on which you have already practised and select "Test".
In a test, you will not be told whether your calculations are correct or whether you have reached the solution. The companions are not available.
At the end of the test, you are given a score and you can enter Self-correction mode to review your work and correct your errors.
If your score is good, you can move on to a more challenging family.
If your score is average or low, it is better to keep practising with the questions of the same family or another family of the same level of difficulty.
If your score is very low, it is possible that the family you have chosen is not right for you (notion not yet seen in class). Or it may be that you have not acquired some important skills yet. In this case, go back to Practise mode and use the help of the companions (but don't overdo it! You have to be able to perform the calculations yourself eventually).
If you can, ask a teacher, a tutor, a parent, to help you to choose the families which are right for you.
